This week we had baby's second check-up. He/she is doing well. We actually got to hear the heartbeat! So exciting! We're now in the 12th week and I haven't gained any weight. I'm super excited about that because I'm definitely worried about gaining too much and having a hard time working it off post-baby. I want to gain what I need to gain but don't want (much) more. While I may not have gained any weight, the weight has definitely redistributed throughout my body and I can tell a big difference in the fit of my clothes. I have a few maternity pieces that I probably don't quite need yet but I'm already working them into my wardrobe.
More exciting news - I have scheduled baby's first 4D ultrasound for after the 15 week mark. On August 22nd (now less than a month away) we'll learn if our little baby is a girl or boy!
Everyone but Lucas and The Rookie are saying 'it' is a boy. I'm not-so secretly pulling for a girl but I really will be happy just to have a healthy baby! There is always time for a girl down the road and a protective older brother is always useful.

This is so exciting! I can't wait to see the 4D ultrasound. I was so upset that our doctor didn't do those.
They 4D ultrasounds are the BEST! My doc gave me one at each appt after 5 mos. LOL He just liked to indulge me!

How exciting! We were surprised with our first... it turned out to be a boy. We have our first ultrasound next week... I'm hoping I can convince my husband that it's okay to find out. I just really want to know this time!
I will guess a girl just to be fun!! I love my girl and she taught me so much as a first time mommy to her!! But my baby boy is fab too there is just a different love for mommy and daughter and mommy and son!! Stay healthy and keep us posted!
That is so cool!! When I had my girls the ultrasound tech told me BOTH times that I was having a boy!! Talk about shock when I gave birth both times!!! Ultrasounds have come a long way in 20 years!!!

Sure, I'll show some belly shots. Right now I just have a pooch - not sure if it is baby related or not. Haha! Maybe on Thursday I'll take a nice 12 week picture to get it started!!
Congratulations Ashley! I didn't realize you were expecting! Enjoy pregnancy and get excited about being a Mommy! It is the most amazing thing in the world!

I was about to subject you to all sorts of my own personal experience with baby weight gain/loss, but then remembered how tiring it got to hear everyone else's stuff all the time. So I deleted it all. And I will just say. . .

Go for it! Wear maternity clothes early! At his point, trust me! You will be way more comfortable in them than miserable in your old clothes. Make friends with the elastic bands!!
