BREAKING NEWS

This is my baby sleeping....

T
his is my baby sleeping.... NOT in my house!

That's right. Lily Ann is spending her first night away from us tonight. **insert tears**

Her Grandma and Granddaddy watched her today while we went to Chattanooga for some touristy fun. I thought we would be back late so I decided (to quote my mother) 'make her dreams come true' by letting Lily stay the night with them. She has waited anxiously for this moment so even though we got back to town around 7, I am letting her stay.

We had dinner with the Rookie and Sara tonight and are about to go to sleep. So far, I've made it through the day/night without tears. Lucas is much more upbeat (either that or trying to keep me from a break down) and is charting this as a milestone of Lily's growth. :(

I miss my daughter!

To make matters worse, they are dog sitting Rafa. So I don't have my little puppy to distract me.

I miss you, Lily and Rafa!

P.S. Thank you, Grandma and Granddaddy, for keeping me updated with photos. It helps..... a little.

I am a grandmother of a 2 and 1/2 year old and she now asks to stay with us. You have just made your folks so happy, you will only know that joy when you too are a grand!

Good for you! I think without-kids getaways are good for everyone - the marriage, the kid, and the grandparents!! Enjoy!!

Ashley - this is such a HUGE milestone! For BOTH of you!!! Hard, yes. But good. She will learn that she can be away, and safe, and you will come back, and all is well. Yay for Chatanooga!!!

Your daughter is adorable! Our baby girls are only a month apart! I am sure it was REALLY hard to leave her for a night!

Awwww what a cutie pie! That first overnighter is hard, isn't it? I now have to fight my parents to keep them from stealing my children - which is a nice problem to have. Be grateful your parents can and do want to spend time with your daughter. :)
