Did you know that we only have 4 more days until we find out if we are having a boy or girl? How exciting is that?!? I can barely stand it. We are leaving the imaging center and heading directly to the mall to hopefully do a little bit of damage! I haven't really bought anything for the baby and I am ready to go crazy (modestly crazy if the husband is reading this)!!
Then two days later we'll be heading back to Nashville for mom's surgery. She visited with a specialist at Vanderbilt and he thinks he has figured out her mysterious illness. She is having a nasal/sinus surgery along with some reconstructive nose surgery. Who knew the secret to her health depended upon a nose job? Hehe!
After a successful straight-A first semester, I'm ready to continue progress on my MBA ~ especially now that there is a little one on the way.
Are you ready for some football? We sure are! Football is HUGE down South and we are ready for some big parties to celebrate!
Did I mention football? Did I mention - ROLL TIDE?!? On September 12th we are heading to Tuscaloosa for my very first college football game! So excited to see my team stomp all over our opponent (even if it is just FIU)! Rammer Jammer, Yellowhammer!
Oh, and one more little thing. It is a little bit further down the road but no countdown could be complete without it:

Check Us Out @ NEWLYWEDS!
Hello to everyone coming over from NEWLYWEDS!
We are the featured couple today on Jenna's Meet the Newlyweds segment!
We've been married for over two years now, but I still feel like a Newlywed! :)
I am usually a very regular blogger, but this week has been a wild one and blogging has fallen off quite drastically. Hopefully things will slow down a bit and my blogging will pick back up soon. Blogging is my tool to reflect on what is going on in our lives, and I desperately need it now.
Several of my regulars have asked about my mom, so I thought I'd give you a quick update. The previous diagnosis of immunodeficiency disorder - while it may be correct - did in no way help her situation. So we are still looking for answers on why she is so sick and how we can make her better. But good news - we went to Vanderbilt on Tuesday to see a specialist. He has pinpointed the problem in her nose and sinuses. She will have surgery in August and hopefully put an end to all this crazy sickness. Her new doctor there is crazy smart and feels confident he can take care of her problems. Thank you!
Also going on in our lives right now - a major bathroom renovation. The shower pan in our master bathroom shower was leaking so now we have to take out all of the tile. So we are completely renovating our shower with new tile and fixtures (and plumbing), replacing our toilet, replacing our sink and faucet, replacing all the fixtures in the bathroom, and freshening it up with a nice coat of paint (color still undetermined). Then, I think we'll need new blinds and window treatments. Why not?
If you didn't think that was enough - I'm currently enrolled in my first semester of graduate school. I'll be taking two courses a semester so I can finish my MBA in about a year! However, I didn't take into consideration that summer courses cover the same material in half the time. So my first semester of school includes two courses with 16 weeks of material crammed into 8. Oh, and I am getting all the hard stuff out of the way first. So that 8 weeks is crammed full of Accounting and Finance! Blah!
So now I have to get back to my Finance. I have so much work due by Midnight tonight and still haven't finished. Oh, yea.... and I have to work, too!
Sorry, enough moaning and complaining. But we have lots of exciting things going on!

Picnic in the Park on a Hot Summer Day!
Whew! It is toasty outside!! I'm not going to complain though because I'll take a hot summer day over rainy or cool on any day of the week!!! The husband and I found a nice table in the shade and enjoyed lunch together in the park.
I promise I'll give you a full photo recap of my very busy wedding weekend soon. But classes for my MBA are now officially underway and I am swept up in school fever!!! I think I originally underestimated the amount of work it will take to complete an MBA in just over a year while working full time and - of course - maintaining my tennis and social calendar. I'm crossing my fingers as I dive right in to graduate work. Hooray for school!

Me Gusta Cinco de Mayo
We started off at our favorite Mexican restaurant with friends, but it was way too noisy, way too many drunk people, and too few servers to handle the huge crowd (old age is apparently turning me into a prude). So we visited a little while then set off to have an enjoyable dinner - just the two of us.
We passed by a few other crowded Mexican restaurants before finding the perfect place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
We had a quiet corner booth where we could talk, laugh, and enjoy the drink specials.

Lucas made a weird face for the picture... so I am cutting him out and encouraging him to look normal in future pics.
And for some big news in our world......
Not only were we celebrating Cinco de Mayo, we were celebrating my acceptance into the MBA program at a local university!!!!

I have already started to get my pre-reqs in order (As I am a Liberal Arts girl entering the Business world - and they apparently think I have a lot to catch up on). I am hoping to get these taken care of during the summer and start my actual courses in August. So keep your fingers crossed that in 2 years I'll have my Masters in Business Administration!
