Easter 2010.... A little late, huh?

I know, I know, I know..... One of these days it's gonna happen. I'm going to have time again to blog consistently. Please tell me when that day is?!?!?

Lily's first Easter was amazing! The Easter Bunny left her a pretty fantastic basket, if I do say so myself....

We headed to her Mammaw and Pappaw's house for lunch, where she and her cousin Karson were the center of attention.

Karson really wanted to hold Lily....
Really. I mean - look at that grasp. Look at that face. He means business! But he loves her so much already!
And I love him. Look at my little prodigy! We'll have him out on the court in no time!
Lily enjoyed some time with daddy on the back porch.
We snapped a family pic..(Lucas, it's your fault. You bought me this camera! Smile!)

Grandma and Mammaw looking over Lily. (Check out those cute lace tights. It doesn't get much cuter. And kudos to my mom who sewed the adorable dress - and the Easter bunny dress, too. She's super talented.)
After lunch we headed home and met up with Aida, Chris, and Lily's future husband - Landon. He's totally into her...

Hi, Lando!

I love them!

Just for a comparison:

What we used to consider a fun night:What we now consider a fun night:

And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Happy Easter.... Sort Of!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! Our little one is apparently not a big fan of the Easter Bunny!

Spring Cleaning...... Outside

Our pretty yard... reseeded and fertilized.... ready for Spring!

Only you'll notice all this dirt to the side and around our trees:

We have big plans to grow a bit more grass to the back fence and mulch around the trees and edges. I'd like to do that this weekend but who knows if that will happen or not. We have lots to get done before Lucas's parents come to visit.... one week from Friday!! They will be here for a little over a month! Who knows... maybe they'll help us seed and mulch. Lucky them!

In order to get all that dirt looking so pristine (yes, that is pristine compared to how it was before our yard work initially started), we had to bag leaves. Lots and lots of leaves....

See....

What? That's not impressive enough? How about all these leaves.............

That's 38 BAGS OF LEAVES!!!! And we had more but ran out of bags. We raked leaves for a good 4 or 5 hours on Saturday.. gathering them all out of the side yard and many from the back yard, as well. Yes, after we finish up the front yard we have several back yard projects to get started on. Our work is never done....

Lily was so good while we worked. She sat in her swing on the porch, swinging away, enjoying the warm weather, sleeping, and watching us work. We are hoping to finish up many of these projects so she'll have a nice yard to play in next Spring. It's all for you, little girl! (Okay, and I like having a nice looking house and yard....)

While we're outside, take a look at the wreath still on our front door and Lily's little announcement sign.....

I've taken down the pinwheels and garland around the mailbox already. Think I need to take these down, as well? Naaaahhhh.... they are fine for a little while longer!

Lily's Firsts

It is overwhelming to try to play blog 'catch up'. And though you, my few readers, have missed out on quite a bit these first few weeks, I'm going to skip over most of it and give you some quick highlights. This way, I can begin blogging about our day-to-day life (which, unfortunately, consists mostly of work and school work with a few play breaks).

So, here we go.....

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Lily's Work Day.... keeping Mommy company

First shopping trip with Grandma... of course the first trip had to be to a consignment sale. Lily has to learn early!
Then we hit up the mall, where she got her first public diaper change.

Lily's first tennis match at our alma mater. Go Chargers!

First Family Walk!

A nap with Daddy...

First bridal shower

Playing on her activity mat!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

BONUS! Here are 2 videos of my precious little girl.... growing every day!

Talking and Smiling....

Enjoying her swing...

It really is amazing how fast she is growing. I'm looking forward to sharing it all with you!

Forgiveness

I've been extremely horrible about updating since Lily came into our lives. For that I sincerely apologize. As it turns out, taking care of a newborn, continuing to work full time (albeit from home), and working on my MBA (not to mention house work, being a good wife, visiting family and friends with the little one, and another minor health scare with my granddaddy) are quite difficult to juggle while maintaining a good blog regimen. Let me repeat this: I will do better. I will do better. I will do better. Okay - it is written, so it shall be done.

To make up for my absence, I give you photos of the most beautiful baby girl you have ever seen:

Not enough cuteness for you? Don't worry. There's more!
