Time for a New 'Do

Yes, it is time to take this long, sorely-in-need-of-color hair:

and transform it into something with a little more style than long.

You know - I did mention how I love zebra print yesterday. What about this?

I do think I would look great with this style. I'm sure my boss would love it....
Or, I could go even longer and add extensions like this:

That could be interesting. Hehe! In all seriousness, I do think I am going to leave my hair the same color (as my hair - not my roots - please don't look at the roots). Though, I am thinking of adding in some red to give it a little punch. Sort of like this:

Subtle, right? Hehe!

I do have to decide which route to go. My former college self was much more brave and would cut and grow her hair out incessantly. But with my old age, I have become much more of a prude and, frankly, scared to do much more than leave my hair long and curl or straighten it everyday. It doesn't have much style..... it is just long. Don't get me wrong: I LOVE rolling my hair. I am addicted to my hot rollers. The first step is admitting the problem. But it is time for a change.

Now - some real options.

I've been contemplating leaving it long. I feel comfortable with this decision. I don't think it would look much different but I can just get her to frame my face a little more and throw in some more layers. These are really cute examples:

But I feel like every time I get layers they grow back out really fast and pretty soon I'm back in the 'no style - just long' zone. Does this happen to anyone else?
Another problem with long hair: I have really thick hair and the longer it gets the more it is weighed down and has less volume. That means the thick curls I have in the morning have fallen by the afternoon.
Or I could go a little shorter than I may be comfortable with. I know I will immediately regret this decision when the scissors start chopping away but it would probably be a really cute style in the end.

Or I can go shoulder-length. The problem with shoulder-length is that sometimes it just looks like you are in that weird in-between stage between short and long hair. If I'm going to be in that style shouldn't I go ahead and get a little thrill with the short hair?

After hours of scavenging hairstyles on the internet, I think I have found one that suits me pretty well. It will be much shorter than where I am now but not short enough to make me sick. Yes - if there was never any need for my hot rollers I would probably get physically sick. I told you I have a problem.

What do you think about these options? Do you have any suggestions?
