Please Help Me Choose

***Yay! Thank you for stopping by on today's BATW layover. (If you don't know what I am talking about go to Blog Around the World and visit Debbie.) Welcome to Alabama! This is our coldest day of winter so far so I hope you brought your winter coat. I am so excited to be getting some more visitors today! I need your help choosing which pictures I should use to have some canvases printed. Let me know! Ya'll Come Back Anytime!!***

WARNING! Lots of wedding pictures coming your way.
(But if you're like me then you'll love this post. Don't you just love wedding pictures? I mean, I have to love these because they are mine but I just love all wedding photos in general. Anyway, back to my post.)

I am getting some canvas prints made (haven't decided on the stretched or unstretched yet) and I need your help choosing which photos I should use. Lucas and I are going to buy a big print (probably 2'x3') and I'll probably get my parents a little smaller one and my grandparents a little smaller one than my parents.

Mom, I know you are reading this. Let me know which one you like.

I'm thinking we're kind of laid back so I think a fun less formal portrait would be nice. Or should I have the formal picture of Lucas and I? Here is the one I am considering 'formal'.

I like it... I'm just not sure. Here are some less formal options. I really like all of these.

This one doesn't even show our faces I just think it is a cool photo. But appropriate for a canvas? Probably not.

Also, I'm thinking my parents or grandparents might prefer one just of me - like a bridal portrait. Not sure though. Here is what I would use for that.

Then what about Lucas's parents? Would they want one just of him?

(Isn't he handsome?)

Give me your thoughts people! I've got to get it ordered this week to get the 40% off at WinkFlash.

Special Delivery

What could it be?

I think I recognize this smile.

Could it be?

I think it is!!!
For the MIL...

And for me! Does that say $83? Pshh.. yeah right! We pay full price for nothing!

Sweet!!!
And now if you'll excuse me....

No, for real. I have to work. Plus I'm saving it for Thanksgiving. 2nd book for Thanksgiving, 3rd and 4th book for Christmas in Colombia.... if I have enough self-restraint.

Quick Question

Has anyone ever bought an unstretched canvas photo and stretched it yourself? If so, is it simple? Is it worth spending $20 more dollars to have it stretched? Keep in mind: I'm cheap. It seems to me that it would be fairly easy and worthwhile but I would love someone's first hand experience before I spend the money. By the way, this is coming about because WinkFlash has all of their canvases 40% off. You should check it out. I'm hoping to get some of my wedding photos printed for me and family members. Let me know your thoughts!!

I Love My Husband

I had a wonderful, wonderful weekend with the husband. He has been traveling so much lately I feel like we haven't had much down time together. We didn't do anything particularly exciting or fast paced this weekend. We got to visit with some friends on Saturday night (Roll Tide!), raked leaves on Sunday (still much more of that to do), had dinner with my family last night (Yum! Lasagna)... all very regular things. But the regular is so extraordinary when life gets too hectic. I love my husband. I feel very lucky to have such a great relationship.

Life is good.

The Day We Shopped....

I have been meaning to post about this for quite some time. Now is as good of a time as any I suppose.

We had a credit to a furniture store and had to spend it before December or it expired. So a few weekends back we headed out in search of a sofa table (not to use behind a sofa mind you). This is what we got....

It is much prettier than it photographs. The wood is darker and somewhat matches our dining room table. It was an incredible bargain and only cost $15 after our credit so I say we scored! Right now it is sitting between this odd space between our foyer and dining room. Eventually, I would like a hutch (not sure how this would work with the thermostat and light switch) or a buffet there and I'll put this piece into our dining room. I have a great lamp for our dining room but no place to sit it. Our house is a work in progress. My husband tries to remind me with each project or idea I pitch that we can neither finish nor furnish our home overnight... it is a process.... and furniture is very expensive. I think we've done well so far.

Now - onto my other purchase. Right next door to the furniture store is the flea market. There are a lot of weird things there but they have some great deals on rugs. And would you know - we are trying to buy rugs. But rugs are more expensive than furniture!! Goodness! Well not this little beauty. I feel it will cheapen my rug when I tell you how much I paid for it but I can't help. It was such a great deal!! 35 DOLLARS!!! YES - it's true! Here is Rafa checking it out!

We actually need a bigger rug. It looked much bigger in the warehouse. But I think it will do for the time being.

Last - but not least - my purchase for me! Check it out!

Gotta love a new purse!

My Husband and His Stupid Job

Okay, I'm only kidding..... kind of.

Can I preface this by telling you that our entire relationship was long distance before we married and that I should be stronger than this but I'm not.....

Don't get me wrong. I am very thankful that Lucas has a great job - one that he absolutely loves. But it is getting on my last nerve. He is returning tonight and hopefully won't have to travel too much for a while (by this I mean only one day a week hopefully). But let me just tell you. My husband has been gone the last 6 weeks! I'm not kidding! He leaves early Monday morning and comes back late on Thursday or Friday. He's been gone to Kentucky, Indiana, and even to Canada once. Gosh! I believe when he took this job they told him he'd travel once or twice a year. Ha! I laugh every time I think of that. So here is my simple plea...

Dear Husband's Employer,
Please let my husband stay home and be with his wife - who has suddenly become incredibly needy through all this. That is all.
Thank You,
The Wife
