I'm still not sure a picture does it justice. It is so Cute! So, I am going to use the polka dot letters as the theme. Instead of a shower cake we are doing cupcakes and I am making little cupcake picks with Karson's name to put on top of each one.
Also, my mom came over last night and we worked on a diaper cake as a centerpiece for the table. I am using Jill's directions (found here). I had seen diaper cakes in the past but all of them looked pretty cheesy. Then I saw hers and was inspired. Although I played around with her directions it is pretty much the same (but using our colors and themes obviously). It all came together pretty easily. The diapers I bought had a blue check on them. I didn't realize this at first.... having never bought diapers before I just figured they were all white. But we tried them out to see how they'd look and the blue check actually enhanced the design of the cake I think. I am so proud of this project. Even Lucas was impressed when he saw the finished project! Now that's impressive. Tada! Here is our diaper cake!
(I hope Kristina doesn't read this blog since it is part of her present. I don't think she does. But I was just too excited about this project to keep quiet!)
Lucas picked me up around lunch today because we needed to go to the bank and open a new account. We are leaving First American Bank because Royal Bank of Canada bought them out and I don't want checks that say "Royal Bank of Canada". I know, I'm weird, but this is me. So, back to where I was headed, Lucas bought Wendy's before he picked me up and we stopped by Big Spring Park to have a nice lunch in the park. It was wonderful. We've decided we'll do this more often.... we'll plan it next time so I can fix a lunch for us to carry in our picnic basket. It definitely made me ready for movie in the park nights this summer.
I just looked up the schedule. Here it is:
- June 13 – Pretty in Pink
- June 27 – Stand by Me
- July 11 – Pillow Talk
- July 25 – Back to the Future
- August 8 – Dr. Strangelove
- August 22 – Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Young Andie is one of the not-so-popular girls in high school. She usually hangs out with her friends Iona or Duckie. Duckie has always had a crush on her, but now she has met a new guy from school, Blane. He's one of the rich and popular guys but can the two worlds meet?
Classic story but sounds good. We'll have to gather a group and go!
