Friday after I (finally) got off of work, I played tennis with Amy, Jill, and Sherry. It was pretty fun but all Amy and I had on our mind was a big margarita! Lucas and I had plans to go over to Chris and Aida's house that night and I invited Dan and Amy to come along. I'm so glad I did! It was fun. We played card games then beer pong all night. What a night! Lucas and I stayed the night and enjoyed breakfast and entertainment from the dogs that morning from the Ratley's new patio furniture. It's beautiful. We are going to have a grill out one day and play basketball, bocce, and crochet... I'll get some pictures then. We also found out that Chris and Aida are planning on getting a pool next summer so I'll be looking forward to that!
We left Chris and Aida's and headed for Hartselle. We had lunch with my mom then went over to my grandparents, where my cousin changed Lucas's oil. We saw the privacy fence that my grandparents started putting up so I am going to make Lucas go help them to learn how to build one. It is so beautiful! Maybe in our next house Lucas can install our own privacy fence. I know it's a pain but anything to save $$$$!
We went home and got ready real quick and headed over to Lucas's boss's house. We had a nice cookout, drank, and watched Juno while we were hanging out. The movie looked decent. I'd like to watch it some time when I can actually concentrate on the movie but the company was great.
Hanging out so much this weekend got me in the mood to host a cookout of our own. I am going to get my parents' smoker (which they have never used) and cook a big meal for friends. My idea is to do the entire meal in the smoker. I'm not sure quite how to do it but I know I've seen it done. Somehow you put the meat, potatoes, and vegetables all in there together. Also, on the Hostess with the Mostess blog I recently saw an article for margarita pops. I will definitely be trying these!
Yummmm!Back to our weekend, yesterday I practiced a little doubles with Debbie, Jill, and Sherry at 12 before our match at 2. I got to play doubles with Amy at 2 which was fun... we just had a rough little start but won 3 and 1. Afterwards, Donna asked me to play some mixed for fun so I stayed. That is roughly 6 hours of tennis (actually about 5 1/2)! I called and sent Lucas a text message letting him know I would be later getting home but he had left his phone in my car so he was wondering where I was! Oops!
Other tennis news, I thought we had definitely received the wild card but now have been told that if a wild card is given our team will get it but we're aren't sure if they'll take a wild card or not. I'd like to find out soon so I can plan. Let's get it together tennis people!
Also, I'd like to go visit Candice and I found a really excellent deal on a ticket but it is the weekend of 4.0 state. If our team doesn't get a wild card then I can buy this ticket but I don't know yet. Hopefully if we don't go I'll find out soon enough to take advantage of this offer. $182 ticket!!!
It was a great weekend but now we're back in the grind of work.
